Ms. Vallebo's 1st Grade Class

Thank you for checking this site for the most current information. Click on the tabs above to find out more about our class!

Thank you parents for the Halloween goodies and treats! I am so lucky to have such a sweet and caring class!

Have a safe and fun Halloween night!

Hello Huskies!

I will be posting pictures of our classroom activities every now and then. I will not be posting pictures of students nor tagging students in the pictures for everyone’s safety.

I will be posting student work, charts, and posters to show what we have been learning.

Thank you for your understanding since I haven’t posted much on my blog. I have to manage Class Dojo posts as well.

Hello Parents!

Thank you for checking this site for our homework assignments. Tonight’s math worksheet (the gray one) is Lesson 1.1: Use Pictures to Add To. The students will be taking home the sample lesson (the colored, stapled papers) as a reference.

I have begun teaching them the importance of making a model to represent the number sentence. More importantly, the model helps the visualize the math problem.

Please keep the math sample and return Lesson 1.1 tomorrow. The packet of High Frequency Words are for you and your child to practice reading. If your child has mastered most of them, please practice spelling them.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.

Hello Parents,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!  It is very important that I have your contact information accessible to communicate with you easily.  Please fill out the parent survey by clicking on the link below.  Thank you!

Last quarter, we began to create our own books. Today, we shared our books with our Mentor Buddies.

We spent some time reading and annotating an article about Dr. Seuss.  Later, we played a game with our Mentor Buddies.

It was so nice to see so many of the students dress up as a book character!  It was a fun day to just read!

We enjoyed watching the movie, The Adventures of Milo and Otis today in our pajamas!

We ate popcorn and had a drink while we watched Milo and Otis get in and out of trouble.  We took home a bag of chips to enjoy!

Great job 1st graders for working so hard together to earn 100 Class Compliments!  Teamwork is so important!

Since we will not have school on Monday and I am trying to catch up with our math assignments, I sent home math homework 11.1 and 11.2.  These worksheets are due on Tuesday.  Thanks for your support!
